~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
Megamind is incredibly brilliant - his massive brain power gives him an intellect that far surpasses normal human beings, though it does seem he occasionally lacks ah...common sense. He's extremely book smart and can remember pointless dates and facts and nearly every conversation he's ever had, along with the end of his planet and the following journey to earth. He has a mental filing system that is far more complicated than humans could ever truly understand, though when explaining something he does sometimes try and break it down. He soaks up information like a sponge, though he doesn’t always apply it to common sense.
He's a pretty legit supergenius, and tends to constantly be creating and drafting plans and working with his hands. He doesn't stop moving most of the time, and this is often an irritant to those around him.
His skeletal structure will also bend before breaking, so he can get thrown around a lot and beaten down and not take as much damage as a normal human might.
How would they use their abilities?: To his own benefit, of course.
I mean.
He'd use it mostly to invent - at the point he is from in another game, he's mostly lost interest in villainizing but doesn't have a huge vested interest in hero-ing around, either.
He's more likely to try and make a buck or do some trading for better, upgraded parts - and likely some kind of honored status as a genius inventor for hire -- unaffiliated, of course. He likes keeping all bases covered and open, after all. He'll will probably take interest in some peoples schemes and offer advice on how to do it better - He is exceedingly smart, after all, and people should LISTEN TO HIM.
He's seen this story of 'WORLD ENDED AAAH' before, so this honestly isn't much new for him.
Also, he'll probably write his own memoir because he is just that fabulous.

"i realize that in penning this memoir myself, I am limiting the degree to which my readers will truly be able to comprehend and GRASP the TRUE expanse of my keen intellect. However, I can not sarcifice accuracy for readability, and so in undertaking this challenge you have already taken the first step toward EXPANDING THE FEEBLE REACHES OF YOUR INSIGNIFICANT AND PATHETIC LITTLE MINDS."
Appearance:
Short and painfully thin, Megamind is obvious in his appearance that while relatively humanoid, he is definitely not a human. His cranium is massive, indicating (but not necessarily indicative of – he does have his moments) incredible brilliance and brainpower, and, most notably – he’s completely blue. Instead of blushing red he blushes a shade of violet, and his limbs are long and gangly. His eyebrows are expressive and his eyes are a bright, unnatural green.
Background/Personality:
Metro City is a lovely jewel situated somewhere in Michigan, presumably – based on the satellite view of the death ray hitting somewhere NEAR Lake Michigan, along with the ginormous body of water that borders the city. It’s a large city akin to something like New York or San Francisco with Skyscrapers and underground tunnels ala the Lincoln Tunnel, though that is where the similarities end.
ENTER MEGAMIND, INCREDIBLY HANDSOME CRIMINAL GENIUS AND MASTER OF ALL VILLAINY.
Er -- yes.
Megamind is the city’s resident self proclaimed supervillain. He’s terrorized the city countless times with his endeavors and devious plots – for years he's been Metro Man's arch-nemesis, attempting to take over the city and rule as the Evil Overlord.
Megamind was eight days old (it's not documented anywhere just how long they were in space, the fandom assumes his birthday is December 17th) when he crash landed on Earth sometime around Christmas. As opposed to landing into the life of luxury, he found himself inside of Metro City's jail, being raised by prisoners and the Warden. From the beginning he was instructed with a rather…warped view of right and wrong and was given a kind of tough love that only a child raised by inmates could experience. Despite these setbacks, he desperately wanted to fit in, and at age seven he was sent to a small school near the jail in order to gain an education.
It’s here that his ‘turn’ starts – he was bullied, picked on, pushed around, and at times blatantly ignored. His classmates and teacher displayed an intense dislike and distrust from day one, and the boy was never properly given a chance to really fit in. After continually being put into time out by fellow schoolmate Wayne Scott, Megamind eventually decided that since being bad was the only thing he was really good at, that was what he was meant to be. Minion went along with this gracefully, and assisted his boss in whatever way he possibly could. From here? Megamind's personality swiftly moves from young boy trying desperately without success to fit in to cocky, irritating bastard that doesn't ever, ever back down from anything.
Ever.
Taking the name Megamind, he escaped from prison and threw himself into the rivalry with a frenzied passion. It was a game, and he loved it. Over the course of time, his schemes and plots grew more detailed, each battle more and more elaborate.
Megamind presents himself to be the kind of guy that makes you just want to sock him in the face – arrogant, smug, cocky, and preeeetty much a jerk.
In truth, Megamind is complicated - his personality is so scattered due to his misguided and often jaded upbringing, that even he hasn't really nailed it down yet. His main attributes are his incredible intelligence and sarcasm with a penchant for nefarious plans, yet at the same time he's a bit dumb (whether this is purposeful or not is indeterminable - he continues to mispronounce despite being corrected, yet shows he is fully capable of catching himself and fixing it while around Roxanne). He's smart enough to build things like a fully functioning spider bot, an enormous battlesuit, create a gun that can dehydrate, decompress, debilitate, etc yet at the same time cannot pronounce Metro City or school correctly.
He’s full of flashy presentations and showmanship – two things which are extremely important to him. As the city’s self-proclaimed super villain, the man has invested all of himself into creating this persona in order to gain that classification and garner the attention of the media. He’s obsessed over and invested so much into his ‘evil’ image that he’s completely cut himself off from anyone other than the immediate players in his game, aside from Minion – his one true friend and companion. He will, however, never outright admit to this deep rooted affection for the fish.
As a whole, the general population is genuinely frightened of him, along with the City’s police force – the one exception to this rule being Roxanne Ritchi. Roxanne Ritchi was crucial to his plans, and was almost always a key player in this twisted little game. She was a chess piece, a pawn and a plot device that he consistently used to lure out Wayne Scott who was now Metro Man. Her biting words and sarcastic, stinging barbs never stopped him from attempting to accomplish his goal, and while he threatened her with various instruments of torture, weapons of mass destruction, death rays, laser beams, sharks, jellyfish, eels – he never let her get hurt.
Metro Man, Roxanne, and Minion are the most important key players in his game and without any one of them Megamind is a little lost. He can regroup and make do (even going so far as to create a new ‘hero’ in Titan), but without them specifically it’s really not the same. He relies heavily on the three and when he destroys Metro Man, he begins to realize just how much losing any one of them really means.
Still -- He is so used to being hated and despised that this fear of him, this hatred from an entire City isn’t something that deters him or stops him in his attempts to take over. Does it bother him? Of course it does – but you will never hear that confession. Despite his showy costumes, flashy capes and razzle dazzle presentations, Megamind is still that small seven year old kid screaming for attention and acceptance.
Megamind is incredibly strong willed and determined - he never gives up, even when he has absolutely no chance of winning. He fully believes that his destiny is to be Metro Man’s rival until the day he dies in a blaze of glory so fantastic that Metro City never forgets his name. Despite his protests to the contrary, he never truly expects to win or take over Metro City - That does not, however, keep him from trying. He consistently loses his battles, but he refuses to stop fighting and trying, no matter how many times he's thwarted and tossed into prison. He does his best to learn from his mistakes, and he keeps trucking.
An incredibly narcissistic being, Megamind is wholly infatuated with himself and his perfected 'supervillain' image. Ever since that fateful day as a seven year old boy turning an entire schoolhouse blue, he has worked hard to create that image for himself - devilishly handsome, superior despite his failures, incredibly brilliant, and evil.
This last one is the most important because while he has worked so hard to be evil, he really just...isn't. He's a self absorbed jerk who comes off as a pretentious asshole, but he’s not evil, and deep down he realizes this. He has standards, and while consistently called a villain, he’s evil only in that his circumstances pushed him to be - Deep down there is quite a bit of pain associated with his childhood and consistent punishments despite his efforts to prove himself as fabulous as the young Wayne Scott.
He's a destructive type of person, even without meaning to be - the inventions he creates are, generally speaking, weapons of mass destruction, and as such, are incredibly dangerous. Megamind is really capable of so much more than most people give him credit for, and despite being feared, he can sometimes be considered a bit of a joke - that is, until the day he manages to succeed.
Most citizens underestimate him and his brilliance, and do not take into account that the man who can build a death ray (let alone get it into ORBIT) and blow up an abandoned building here and there has not completely leveled their city yet. Despite wanting to lord over the city like a dictator, Megamind regards the general population as soft headed morons who don't understand sheer brilliance when they see it.
Despite having 88 life sentences, it's safe to assume that, up until the 'death' of Metro Man, Megamind hasn't actually killed anyone. Regardless of threatening to take over the city, kidnapping, robbery, destruction of public property, Megamind views mass murdering and senseless death as in very bad form. Even villains have standards, you see - and Megamind prides himself on having that as well as class.
Why should that character be in this game: N/A
Why do you want to continue their history here:
Megamind is a complicated character and the time he spent at Holloway's shaped and changed him in varying degrees. I'd like to keep that dynamic in a different setting, because while he's changed for the better, he still isn't exactly a reformed villain nor is he any kind of hero. He simply is, and he likes that.
Also?
THIS IS WHERE THINGS GOT VERY, VERY COMPLICATED.
Megamind is pre-canon, which means that up until the time he arrived at Holloways Keep, he had not gone through any of the development that he goes through in the film. He is as cocky and smarmy as ever, and initially it gets him into some trouble.
The Keep is entirely medieval in both appearance and design, which means there is a distinct absence of technology. This grates on Megamind so much that shockingly enough, he strikes up a bargain with one of the Keep's staff. In exchange for doing more menial tasks that the staff -Rem in particular- doesn't want to do, he is given scrap metal that he can use to build, create, and mold. It's a good deal and Megamind never goes back on it - never let it be said that he cannot keep his word.
Here at the Keep Megamind slowly but surely learns acceptance and that not all good deeds are good and not all bad deeds are bad. He finds companionship and friendship despite his previous history (and bragging to the entire Keep) of his villainy, and slowly comes to terms that perhaps he is not really the bad guy, but he also isn't exactly a good guy, either. Also - HE LEARNED HOW TO SAY PLEASE AND MEAN IT this is really big, I'm talking exponential.
I think what changed Megamind the most were his relationships with the women in Holloways Keep.
They didn't treat him like a piece of scum to be scraped off their high heel.
They didn't look down their nose at him or lift their chin and walk away.
They didn't scoff at his intelligence or brush him off or fling angry insults geared to hurt and crush his already brittle self esteem.
They listened - they talked to him, encouraged him, tried their best to push him in a better direction, and taught him that not everyone was out to get him and out to make his life a complete and utter hell. He formed friendships and grew to care about them individually instead of generalizing humans - both men and women alike - as lemmings bred only to follow orders and obey.
Previously, Megamind's only exposure to people had been limited to the super hero, prisoners, Minion (though he's not human but Megamind still counts him as a person because Minion) and Roxanne, who was...not very nice to him. He learned that there are other people in the world besides this little group and they were not, as he had previously believed, all bad.
Two of Megamind's most important friends in Holloways are listed below. One is in game here - though she wont remember him, and the other is his fiance who was not Roxanne Ritchi.
The first? Tammy Sable (
nobottleneeded).
Tammy was one of the people that Megamind actually cared about. There were very few people that deserved and earned his time and energy, and she was one of them. Tammy - for whatever reason - struck a nerve with him and he made a point to seek her out. She gave him a good opportunity to banter, which was a nice reminder of home despite all of the negativity associated with Metro City.
His relationship with her was...complicated. It was complicated, SOMETIMES ANTAGONISTIC but mildly, strangely affectionate despite the constant trading of stinging barbs that were not, of course, ever actually sincere.
Megamind was oddly attracted to her which made him feel...very strange in the grand scheme of things and there is one specific thing that truly bonded them and sealed their odd friendship - he knew her secret. During a chance event where everyone was turned human, Megamind wrangled the secret of of her despite the fact she wasn't exactly in her right mind.
...This also demonstrates that he isn't exactly - and will never be - an upstanding citizen. He still takes advantage, he still manipulates, and he still uses people when he can get away with it.
The second character is Megamind's Fiance - Ryn.
Ryn is the kind of woman that doesn't take anyone's shit, ever. She was always full of sass and fire, but without the vitriol that Roxanne was always spewing at him. They bonded over cars, mechanics, robotics, anything technological, they discussed. He was infatuated from day one, but being who and what he was? He didn't think that he ever had a shot.
Then Christmas 2011 there was mistletoe everywhere and Ryn stole a kiss and that was the end of it. Hestalked her til he won her politely asked her on 'dates' and consistently requested her presence for various tasks and duties until they finally just realized they were a couple.
This, of course, took about six months of stubbornness and fear - fear that he would screw this up, that he would ruin everything by simply being himself, that he would inevitably do something that would make her hate him.
Somehow - miraculously - that didn't happen.
What did happen was a blossoming relationship between two socially dysfunctional people trying to be functional. It's a strange thing to try and chronicle, but throughout their relationship they learned a lot about one another - and what it's like to have feelings besides contempt for another person.
Their relationship was a stepping stone for him - a path to greatness as one might say, and it truly led him to grow in many ways of both self-acceptance and self-worth.
Then the day came that he accidentally got her burned to death - himself included - by engaging a woman made solely from fire. His guilt was immeasurable though she assured him it was no fault of his own. He continued to blame himself and when he managed to get them both killed again in a similar manner by the same woman?
Megamind broke up with her, stating the only way to keep her safe was to have her away from him.
Time passed and Megamind avoided her until she herself stormed into his room and told him no this was not over and that's not how this was going to end.
Megamind's response?
Propose.
He gave her a ring he'd been saving and begged her to marry him and she consented. For several months they've been in an engaged bliss and now --
He's pulled away from her, away from the life he set up for himself and away from the woman he loves and thrust into something new and different yet again.
Have you read up on how the game works?: Yus! The plug-in is called the FlamingFerret and Megamind can earn money by getting a job, stealing, or mooching.
1st person sample:
[ megamind doesn't look like the happiest camper on board -- i mean honestly just LOOK AT HIS FACE this is not a face that is a pleased one. ]
Ahem -- DEIOR.
While I realize that this little endeavor might be hilarious to some -- do remember that I have heard this story before. It is no longer funny. Produce Ryn, or there will be severe consequences.
[ she is not near him which she was last he checked and he is mad okay REALLY MAD. the assumption this is one of the Keep's tricks is heavy on his ample mind. ]
Also, Rem? If this is your idea of a joke I am personally going to find you and put you in the bloody STOCKS.
[ ahem ]
That said -- I REQUIRE TECHNOLOGY oh Gods you have no idea how long its been since I've been able to get my hands on anything even remotely resembling something modern.

This is a first person (letter to MISS RITCHI) that I wrote for a previous app and I really like it so I'magonna put it in here too. :)
Miss Ritchi:
I need to address several things with you, temptress!
Firstly - While I appreciate the sentiment and thought --Really, thank you so much for thinking of me-- behind attempting to send me your latest bill for apartment repairs terribly sorry about your coffee pot, I am afraid that I must, in good faith, decline such a transaction. It would behoove you to remember just who and what I am: the master of all villainy. Such benevolence would stain my reputation.
You will, however, find that your bank account has increased dramatically, though it has, of course, nothing to do with me.
Furthermore – your request for next weekend off is denied, I have something particularly spectacular in mind, so your plans, whatever they are, are going to have to wait.
Thirdly - your general unappreciation for the Frequent Kidnap Card promotion has been duly noted.
The promotion has been discontinued.
Ciao Ciao.
Abominably, diabolically, evilly yours:

Incredibly Handsome Criminal Genius and Master of All Villainy
3rd person sample:
“--And Metrocity will be finally be mine!” Chest heaving, he stood before Roxanne, hand pointed into the air as his cape swished gently by his ankles, lapping at the leather of his boots. She looked unimpressed, sitting there so elegantly, hands tied neatly behind her back and her ankles bound. She looked resplendent, even with sticks of dynamite fastened to a construction helmet perched atop her head.
“Eloquent as always, Megamind. Did you read that in a book somewhere?” Roxanne’s dry, sarcastic voice sliced through his triumphant mood, and through the expression of haughtiness and superiority that was customarily in place after he’d finished a tirade or divulging his next deliciously evil plan. He scowled at her, and flicked a hand dismissively in her general direction. He was not one to be deterred for long, biting remarks notwithstanding.
She never had screamed for him. His expression deepened in displeasure, and his eyes settled on her cool blues.
She’d worn red again today.
“I’ll have you know, Miss Ritchi, that while your little barbs are duly noted, they do nothing to sway me. I, Megamind - master of all villainy will rule Metrocity – despite your kind words of wisdom.” With a flourish, he swept past her, head high and nose lifted pointedly into the air. His cape brushed her bare calf.
The man had a way about him. She had to give him credit.
He sashayed on past her.
“Now…Where is that fish?” Muttering to himself, he leaned over the control panel, twisting knobs that prompted a flurry of reactions across the room. Steam hissed from under the ridge of a rising garage door for the vehicle sized gun to be proudly displayed – he was so proud of that device – except one thing was…off.
Instead of just the gun – his wonderful, ingenious, diabolically evil tractor beam that was going to be used in his latest plan – there was Minion, De-gun in hand, looking remarkably guilty. His hand flew to his holster that had been suspiciously empty since this morning.
“Minion! What—what are you doing?!”
The fish flinched, caught in the act. He held the de-gun delicately in his large metal hand, moving to stand in front of what he had been doing.
“I was just finishing some touchups to the tractor beam, Sir!”
“What- What is this? Stand aside!”
Meekly obliging, Minion moved out of the way, and all alongside the gun was a rather devilish design, if Megamind did say so himself. Lacquered brilliant blue flames licked the sides in and came to fruition at the tip.
“I thought it needed more flair, Sir – so I added a bit here and here, and just there. What do you think?” Minion looked pleased with his work.
“Oh, you fantastic fish, you! This is perfectly evil looking.” He walked around it step by step, observing, running a gloved fingertip along the design, looking impressed.
“Are you done?” Roxanne’s interruption sounded amused, annoyed, and tired. “Can I go home now?”
Gloved fingers squeak against the lacquer and he stops at her voice, pausing in his tracks before turning slow, carefully. Presentation was key, here - one couldn't look too eager, but there was no mistaking the anticipation on his face, the gleam in his eyes.
“Oh no, Miss Ritchi. We've only just begun.”
Questions?: Can Megamind come in with his dehydration gun and disguise watch? He had both in Holloways, with limited functionality. I pasted what was in his app there below:
Megamind will have his De-gun, which has eight functions – a lot of these are not explained in canon but the functions themselves are clearly marked on the gun, and I have compiled this list from musings from the Megamind community on Livejournal and tweaked them.
Dehydration: This function can turn any object (living or inanimate) into a small, glowing blue cube. From this point the item/person can be restored to their original state with a single drop of water. It causes no permanent damage, except maybe over-tiredness.
Decoupage: The actual definition of this (as stated from dictionary.com) is: the art or technique of decorating something with cut-outs of paper, linoleum, plastic, or other flat material over which varnish or lacquer is applied. Basically, this function coats the target (person, item, whathaveyou) with a kind of clear waterproof coating, similar to lacquer, presumably the dehydrated cube so that it can’t easily be rehydrated. Megamind suspects that Minion uses this function to do actual decorating and gift-wrapping when he isn’t looking.
Decompress: Exactly as it sounds. It can be used to decompress the matter in a human body, which sounds messier than it actually is. What it actually does is relieve the body of pressure and returns a person to a condition of normal atmospheric pressure. It’s great stress relief.
Deregulate: This function incapacitates the voltage regulator in any machine that has electrical systems (cars, trucks, planes – most modern forms of transportation). It causes the engine to fail in stages, so no massive injury to the driver/passengers is done in the process. Ideal for use on a squadron of police cars, or any aircraft.
Debilitate: Sucks the electrical energy out of a person which causes muscle weakness similar to atrophy. To only be used when target is to remain conscious. Note to self: Never use on Roxanne Ritchi again – the results are too unpredictable.
Demoralize: …Temporarily neutralizes willpower and creates general confusion and bewilderment by interfering with biochemistry. Results are too unpredictable for regular use. Discontinued usage is best until further investigation and tweaking can be done.
Destroy: Simply put - this breaks down molecular bonds, causing a ray which essentially destroys anything that it hits. This is the most dangerous setting, despite the Death Ray.
Death Ray: When struck, the target simulates death for several hours. The heart slows and they appear to be, for all intents and purposes, dead. When they awaken, they are disoriented and unable to function properly until they’ve properly rested.
He will also have his watch which is quite the nifty little thing. It holds the capability to scan any individual, record their voice, and create a realistic hologram that enables Megamind to move about disguised as that person. The hologram is real enough that if you touch it, it will feel like that person (going soley on the fact that Roxanne held his hand and didn’t notice) but Megamind’s eyes will always, however, remain green – no matter who he is attempting to impersonate.

The first? Tammy Sable (
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
He
This, of course, took about six months of stubbornness and fear - fear that he would screw this up, that he would ruin everything by simply being himself, that he would inevitably do something that would make her hate him.

Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: I did!
